Ci voleva un libro così, che trattasse l'argomento della diversità in modo semplice per bambini. L'unica pecca, per questo ho tolto una stella, è il refuso (messo il testo in evidenza nella foto) che potrebbe confondere un piccolo lettore e diciamolo, per essere un libro sostanzialmente corto, poteva essere evitato! L'errore di battitura indica la ripetizione di Pearl, il nome della protagonista, con quello della sua amica Matilda. Peccato!

    L'ho fatto leggere a mio fratello di 9 anni, forse già un po' troppo grande e forse già reduce di una cultura femminista per cui il libro è stato un po' banale e non ha destato entusiasmo.

    La trama direi che è più lunga di tutti i dialoghi e la stessa dice TUTTO ciò che c'è scritto sul libro, con annesso spoiler della famiglia noiosa, per cui leggetela alla fine.

    Veramente troppo corto, adatto ai bambini di prima elementare.

    In questi giorni non stanno mancando le polemiche riguardanti le adozioni da parte di coppie omogenitoriali (o “famiglie arcobaleno”) ed è per questo che vorrei parlarvi, nel caso non lo conosciate già, di un bellissimo libro capace di insegnare anche ai più piccoli il rispetto della diversità e mettere in risalto l’amore in tutte le sue forme: “La bambina con due papà” di Mel Elliot ed edito da De Agostini - Libri per Ragazzi.

    Stamattina Pearl si è alzata presto, eccitata all’idea di andare a scuola: la maestra ha infatti annunciato l’arrivo di una nuova alunna, Matilda.

    Che bello sarebbe diventare super amiche!

    Quando Pearl scopre che Matilda ha due papà non vede l’ora di farsi invitare a casa della compagna: potrà finalmente fare cose pazzescamente divertenti, come saltare sul letto o mangiare dolci per cena! Ma le sue aspettative vengono presto deluse. I due papà sono normali e… noiosi proprio come i suoi genitori!

    È indubbio che un libro per bambini con un titolo così particolare non può passare certo inosservato... immagino anche che molti genitori lo eviteranno perché non sono argomenti da affrontare coi più piccoli.

    Io invece voglio parlarne, perché credo che leggere un albo illustrato che affronta questa tematica possa essere utile anche -e soprattutto- ai bambini (ovviamente adottando modo e linguaggio adatti all’età).

    Un libro straordinariamente tenero e ironico, capace di porre l’accento sul fatto che gli stereotipi ed i preconcetti siano per lo più insegnati dagli adulti e non un bagaglio preconfezionato che ci portiamo dietro dalla nascita.

    Un testo divertente che, attraverso la chiave dell’amicizia, punta a raccontare in modo semplice ma efficace come anche la famiglia all’apparenza più “particolare”, nella realtà è esattamente uguale a tutte le altre, cioè fatta di regole, routine ma soprattutto AMORE.

    Età di lettura: dai 4-5 anni
